About Us

The Vision

Together, we can change the world. This is our belief at We Act UNSW. We aim to inspire the youth of today to become tomorrow's leaders of social change.

We Act UNSW aims to empower young people to take action on social causes they are passionate about by connecting them to social enterprises, not-for-profits and social student societies. We hope to bring together and connect young change-makers with like-minded individuals and established change leaders - our goal is to turn 'Me' into 'We'.

The Story

The idea of We Act UNSW began when our very own President, Mary Ye, went on exchange to Canada and discovered the 'We Day' movement that swept their nation - seasonal tours in international cities, prominent speakers ranging from political leaders to Hollywood celebrities, a community of empowered young people and tickets that can only be obtained through social action. Influenced by this movement, We Act is about becoming the best leader you can be to positively impact the world.

We Act UNSW aims to empower young people with the knowledge, confidence and support network to become ambassadors of change and active local and global citizens. It also aims to bring together and connect young change-makers with like-minded individuals and established change leaders - our goal is to turn 'Me' into 'We'. Through We Act UNSW, we hope to engage Australian youth to join this international movement in righting the wrongs and advocating for a better world.

The Present

Since its founding in 2015, We Act UNSW has conducted multiple events around recognising and acting on different social issues. We are currently planning our flagship event, Mini We Day, a free event open to all university students who want to gain new perspectives and be inspired to take on global issues. We Act invites today's youth to come together and experience the power of hope, passion and courage in creating a better future.

This is the power of We.
